Main Duties & Responsibilities

Job Summary:

Creates, maintains, and responsible for the accuracy of the bill of materials, routing, and cost in all product codes.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set up and maintain item codes (raw materials, semi-finished goods, finished goods) and BOM.

    Â
  • Collect necessary information from inside sales and/or engineering, verify consistency (unit, weight, material) and units of measure

    Â
  • Create items codes in the respective IT system

    Â
  • Create BOMs and routings, work with plant supervisors to ensure BOMs are operationally correct and maintained

    Â
  • Validate all costs with cost accountant

    Â
  • Follow up and resolve variations in a timely manner

    Â
  • Cleanse databases such as duplicates, inconsistencies, performance, etc… on a routine basis

  • Work closely with engineering to input new bills of material as well as modified existing bills to support the engineering change process

  • Develop and maintain basic product knowledge. Keep informed of market, new products or services, basic technical information, product reliability and other general information of interest to the customer.

  • Communicates with Inside Sales, Accounting, and Purchasing departments on order delays or changes.

  • Offer and obtain assistance from peers or supervisor when needed. Maintain flexibility in performing other related task or functions as required or assigned.

  • Perform other related functions as required or assigned.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) and Customer Order Processes â€" Symix System

  • Have the ability to read and interpret prints/specs

  • Conflict resolution and problem solving skills

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Capability to Learn and Retain information

  • Ability to type at an accurate speed

    Education

  • Associate degree in technical field or equivalent 3 to 5 years related work experience.

    Work Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing and order processing

    Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively; capable of listening intently; visual acuity to process paperwork. Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time.
