Main Duties & Responsibilities

Job Summary:

Serves as the interface between the company and our customer base to provide immediate information on delivery information, available products and services and troubleshoots any customer complaints or order issues. Looks for opportunities to solve problems to prevent re-occurrence of like issues by informing manufacturing, inspection, shipping or the problem department.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide delivery and product information to customers and Account Managers by obtaining necessary information from production and transportation service companies.
  • You will work closely with the insides and branch sales to process order changes and cancellations, direct shipments, create Return Authorizations and issue credits.
  • Communicates with customers and sales representatives on order delays or changes.
  • Use telephone, word processing and related office equipment in fulfilling daily requirements.
  • Offer and obtain assistance from peers or supervisor when needed. Maintain flexibility in performing other related task or functions as required or assigned.
  • Keep account managers updated on important activity with customers they interface with.
  • Perform other related functions as required or assigned.
  • Develop and maintain basic product knowledge. Keep informed of market, new products or services, basic technical information, product reliability and other general information of interest to the customer.

  • Qualifications

    • Knowledge of: Customer Order Process â€" Symix or other programs Windows and Microsoft Office
    • Knowledge of production processes, products and services
    • Conflict resolution and problem solving skills
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • College level computer training courses desirable
    Work Experience
    • Up to three (3) years of successful experience as an order processing or customer service representative, preferably in a manufacturing or services organization.
    Physical Requirements
    • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively; capable of listening intently; visual acuity to process paperwork. Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time.
