Main Duties & Responsibilities

Martinic Engineering (a TriMas Company) is currently seeking a seasoned Senior Quality Engineer to join our Quality team at our facility in Stanton, CA. The Senior Quality Engineer will mainly be responsible for quality project management involving advanced quality techniques, including corrective action, site packet development, disposition activity, and PPAP. The Senior Quality Engineer will also be responsible for developing, modifying, applying, and maintaining quality standards for products and processes.

The Senior Quality Engineer will ultimately be responsible for developing and initiating programs to improve supplier performance and will be expected to provide diverse and complex statistical information for quality improvement by determining and applying testing methods and criteria. In Addition, he or she will be tasked with guiding technical evaluations, analysis, and related data acquisition processes to ensure division quality objectives are achieved.

Note : The role will be 80% in an office environment and 20% on the shop floor.

Responsibilities of the Senior Quality Engineer :

  • Assesses quality performance (or cost-of-quality) using statistical and analytical methods

  • Develop and establish advanced quality systems and procedures, inspection plans, quality performance trends, statistical plans, cost estimates, and technical quality plans for proposals

  • Ensure that project and process control documentation is compliant with requirements

    Â
  • Perform in-house and supplier audits and surveys to ensure compliance to quality requirements

  • Assess cost of, and determine responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications

    Â
  • Conduct QA tests and design and specify inspection and testing mechanisms/equipment

  • Develop statistical process controls by applying and maintaining applicable control charts

  • Analyze data by completing hypothesis, normal distribution, and process capability analysis

  • Compile and write training material and conduct training sessions on quality control activities

  • Analyze proposed changes in methods and materials

  • Act as member of Material Review Board and participate in failure analysis and investigations

  • Refine and enhance products and processes by applying continuous improvement and key lean manufacturing/production principles and techniques

  • Interface with customers and regulatory agencies, and assist with internal and external audits

    Â
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, ensure adherence to requirements, and advise management on needed actions

  • Work with customers/suppliers to identify quality performance, trends, and corrective action

  • Prepare reports by collecting, interpreting, analyzing, and summarizing data

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications and Education of the Senior Quality Engineer:

  • 10+ years of quality experience or 6+ years of parts-based knowledge within a manufacturing environment

    Preferred Qualifications and Education of the Senior Quality Engineer:

    Â
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field

    Â
  • Experience with and knowledge of FMEA, PPAP, PCPX, APQP, XDP

    Â
  • Six Sigma certified; machine shop or casting machinery experience

    Â
  • Proficient in AS9100, audit certification; prior aerospace industry experience
