Main Duties & Responsibilities

The EHS Manager is responsible for EHS programs at multiple facilities. This position develops, implements, and manages the EHS programs to be in compliance with local, country and regional EHS requirements, as well as Cooper Industries’ internal EHS requirements. The goal is for the EHS programs to progress to world class levels. This position is accountable to the Global VP of HR for Rieke.

Provides advice and guidance to all levels of the organization on all EHS and legislative issues on a daily basis, ensuring that good and timely business decisions are made.
Identifies and records EHS training needs, along with Line Managers, providing training and development as required on a company, departmental and individual level.
Develops implements and maintains plans, policies and procedures relating to the EHS Management Systems in place.
Responsible for ensuring EHS internal and external audits are carried out in a timely manner and corrective actions are documented and closed within the specified time frame.
Maintains EHS records for the site to comply with local legislative requirements and company policies and procedures.
Responsible for ensuring Accident Investigation and Reporting requirements are carried out and that appropriate corrective actions are agreed and completed in a timely manner.
Responsible for ensuring that all necessary licenses, permits and authorizations are in place and renewed as required by current governmental legislation. Also to ensure that any specified conditions or action levels are monitored and maintained within prescribed limits.
Ensures that employees requiring medical monitoring according to our EHS programmers are referred to our Occupational Health Service provider.
Responsible for ensuring that Risk Management reports are reviewed and that all key exposures are addressed by implementing directly or recommending appropriate corrective actions to senior management.

The successful candidate actively participates in the Corporate EHS Audit Program as an auditor, progressing to the lead auditor levelAct as the facility EHS contact with government EHS agenciesTalent development is a key responsibility of this position.

This position is responsible for the development and progression of all EHS personnel working at the assigned facilitiesMaintain and communicate EHS metrics as required, to facility, division and/or corporate EHS management.

Ensure EHS reviews are integrated into the Management of Change process and the Lean effortsEnsure EHS Compliance Calendars are developed and maintained, and that
required activities occur to maintain EHS complianceWork with 3rd party administrator and facility management to investigate claims; determine compensability; and manage employee return to work program Ensure facilities maintain systems to track necessary data for environmental report s, along with timely report submittals.

Qualifications

Understanding of all components of an EHS Program, such as including accident investigation, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, life safety, machine guarding, air permitting,
wastewater, hazardous waste, property conservation, and workers’ compensation
Bachelor or above major in safety engineering or other engineering discipline;
At least 5 years related work experience in foreign companies, and above 3 years team management experience of EHS;
Experience in manufacturing company is essential
Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
