Main Duties & Responsibilities

Rieke Packaging System is currently seeking an Accounting Manager to join their European Finance Team. Rieke is committed to being an innovative, world class manufacturer of closures and dispensing systems for the global market. Serving a wide range of markets – from health, beauty and home care, to food & beverage, to pharmaceutical and to a wide range of industrial markets including paints, solvents, oils and lubricants – Rieke supplies both boutique manufacturers and the world’s top brands with innovative dispensers, closures and custom packaging solutions.

Reporting to the EMEA Financial Controller as a key member of the Finance Department, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for several key areas of the finance function, including the preparation of management accounts and other financial information, data, and analysis for internal and external submission, and the maintenance of internal accounting systems and processes for both the UK and Germany entities.

Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager:

· Maintenance of the General Ledger including General Ledger journal preparation and entry

· Preparation of management accounts for review by EMEA Financial Controller.

· Control account reconciliations and uploading to group shared platform (Blackline)

· Maintenance of the monthly salary payroll

· Preparation of journals

· Preparation and calculation of Group recharge invoices

· Support EMEA Financial Controller in preparation of budgets and forecasts for Group Submission

· Preparation of quarterly VAT returns

· Preparation of draft statutory accounts for audit

· Support internal and external audits as required (including SOX)

· Liaison with suppliers, customers and business contacts

· Support for French and Italy subsidiaries

· Various other reporting and analysis assignments as required

· Provide support to the team and assist with ad-hoc accounting duties as required

· Manage the external outsourced relationship for AP

· Reporting of non-trading entities and branches

· Reporting of UK corporate entity

· Pension reporting, auto enrolment assessment and administration

· P11Ds

· PAYE Settlement Agreement

· Correspondence with HMRC/ check of employer records

· Credit control to enhance cash flow and meet targets

· Liaising with the French and German local tax authorities, local accountants / auditors, payroll bureau, regulatory filing

Qualifications

Required Qualifications of the Accounting Manager:

· A minimum of 6 years’ accounting experience

· Management and Financial Accounting experience

· Strong commercial awareness and understanding of UK GAAP

· Professional working proficiency with German

· Excellent analytical/numeracy skills

· Experience with ERP software and Advance Excel skills



Preferred Qualifications of the Accounting Manager:

· ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification is highly preferred

· University degree educated

· German speaking (business level)

· Experience within a manufacturing environment

· Syteline (ERP)

· JBA System 21 knowledge
