Main Duties & Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:

To procure or bid technical, engineering, manufacturing, office, and miscellaneous goods and/or services within allocated costs and time constraints.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Competencies:

Obtains bids and issues purchase orders on a timely basis to meet organizational needs.

Evaluates reports, reviews and follows up on past due purchase orders.

Maintains good company image and supplier relations through numerous daily business contacts via telephone or in person.

Investigates and resolves discrepancies occurring between invoices and purchase orders.

Review and analyzes purchase order acknowledgments and simple contracts.

Looks for opportunities to procure improve and/or less costly materials and/or services.

Selects and maintains sources of supply and internally communicates changes affecting purchase.

Documents procedures and source records. Maintains accurate files.

Performs purchase order expediting, as needed.
